HOW CAN I SUPPORT PLANETROCK?

The best way to support PlanetRock is to generously support our projects. Our mission is to inspire and fund visionary, solution-centered efforts that sustainably impact the world. A second way to support us is to enhance our capacity. We’re a nonprofit organization and have chosen not to charge an administrative fee for use of this platform. HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER?

If you’re serious about volunteering, please let us know.  As a new startup, we need tons and tons of help, especially while we raise money for the first time. To help us create jobs, please visit the Campaign for PlanetRock at Do Things Better.

WHAT IS THE MISSION OF PLANETROCK?

It’s so trite that we almost hate to say it. The mission of PlanetRock is to genuinely make the world a better place — one great project at a time.

WHAT MAKES PLANETROCK UNIQUE?

Through PlanetRock, the world’s premier minds and hearts are encouraged to construct sustainable solutions to any issue, big or small, anywhere in the world, and then crowdfund those solutions into existence. For those who request it, PlanetRock will soon provide unprecedented support in the form of experts, designers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to help projects succeed.

WHY SHOULD I CROWDFUND WITH PLANETROCK INSTEAD OF USING PLATFORMS LIKE KICKSTARTER OR INDIEGOGO?

We love and support all great crowdsourcing options, including Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Unlike most platforms, however, PlanetRock is FREE, and through the Campaign for PlanetRock we are raising money to provide unprecedented support in the form of experts, designers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to help make your solutions a reality.

IS THERE ANY COST TO USE THE PLATFORM?

We do not charge for use of this platform. Moreover, we believe your projects deserve 100% of the support you generate. Unlike for-profit platforms which redirect between five and ten percent of donated dollars to their own pockets, PlanetRock is both nonprofit and transparent about the allocation of every penny raised for salaries, benefits, office space, equipment, travel, marketing, and anything necessary to sustainably support this movement. WHAT IS “DO THINGS BETTER”?

The Campaign for PlanetRock, Do Things Better, is designed to support PlanetRock and benefit America’s favorite nonprofits. We understand, whether its broadly acknowledged or not, that the nonprofit/social enterprise community is irrevocably and inextricably linked. As such, we both enable and encourage donors to simultaneously support PlanetRock and their favorite nonprofit at the same time. We can’t do anything by ourselves and won’t pretend we can. It’s about all of U.S.

WHAT IS MOBILE CAUSE AND CAUSEVOX?

As we build the most practical, egalitarian goodwill engine the world has ever known, we are utilizing other fundraising tools to help advance early projects. We could wait for our own platform to be fully realized, or we can choose to soft launch now. Because life is short, and solutions demand action, we are electing to soft launch now. Mobile Cause makes it easy to receive donations via text messages, and CauseVox offers low-cost fundraising services to the nonprofit community. We thank both for their partnership and support!

IS PLANETROCK ONLY AVAILABLE TO INSTITUTIONS?

No. Anyone can use the platform. PlanetRock is ideal for small, local projects like repurposing vacant lots and equally ideal for larger, more visionary projects like building new parks, schools, spaces, products, and paradigms. Through PlanetRock, you are invited and encouraged to sustainably solve anything. It’s time to do things better.

 

CAN SMALL BUSINESSES USE THE PLATFORM?

CAN RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS USE THE PLATFORM?

DOES THE PLANETROCK TEAM INITIATE PROJECTS, TOO?

Yes! More specifically, we dedicate ourselves to the discovery and design of longer-term solutions that utilize Team Crowdfunding™ to inspire conscious, coordinated, and unprecedented national collaboration. 

CAN I CREATE MY OWN PROJECT RIGHT NOW?

No. As we simultaneously soft launch and build our capacity, we’re focused on executing a few, simple projects that can’t wait. Recent current events have reminded U.S. that failure to act, when we can, is morally suspect. Now is not the time to wait. CAN I SUBMIT A PROJECT IDEA TO YOU?

Yes! Please. If you’ve found a sustainable solution to any problem on this planet, let’s hear it. Time is ticking and we must do what we can while we can.  If you have a great idea, let’s work to get it going.  It’s go time.  

WILL THE PLATFORM BE AVAILABLE IN OTHER COUNTRIES?

Yes!  PlanetRock will operate exclusively in the U.S. for approximately a year. Thereafter, we hope to have the platform available for projects all over the world.

WILL PLANETROCK DEVELOP INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS, TOO?

Yes! PlanetRock will crowdfund a series of brazenly visionary projects in Ethiopia, Brazil, Mexico, India, Bulgaria, the Philippines, and the United States.

IS IT BETTER TO SUBMIT PROJECTS AS A TEAM?

Yes. The practical purpose of the platform is for communities to gather together, identify solutions for seemingly intractable problems, and then crowdfund them out of existence. We believe this can only be accomplished when a diverse group of stakeholders share both the vision and responsibility for making this happen.

DO I HAVE TO BE A RESIDENT/CITIZEN OF THE CITY/NATION IN ORDER TO FACILITATE A PROJECT THERE?

No. We are citizens of the world and members of a global community. However, we believe it is inappropriate and impossible to effectively advance a project – however noble – without the leadership and voiced vision of all genuine stakeholders, wherever they reside.

WHAT INSPIRES US?

For the first time in human history, we can collectively address problems once considered impossible, intractable, or “too complex” to solve. What a great time to be alive!
